No Response to Job Applications in Germany?

You applied for a role, but the company has not replied. Check your message, follow up with care and keep looking for other work.

Many employers use online forms to collect applications. Hiring teams may need time to review them. No reply does not always mean a final no.

Three steps you can take

1

Check your account and inbox

Make sure the company portal shows your form as sent. Keep the job advert and date. Look in your spam folder as well.

2

Write a short follow-up

After the stated deadline, ask for an update. Include the exact role and the day you applied. Avoid a long message.

3

Find more open roles

The Federal Employment Agency has a public job search. Check company sites and look at nearby towns too. Keep more than one option open.

What matters in your job market

In Germany, some firms use an applicant portal rather than email. A copy of the job ad and your sent form makes a follow-up much easier.

Keep a record of each application in Germany. Write down the company, role, date and any portal receipt. A firm may ask you to use its own online account, so check there before you send a second message. If the listed deadline is over, one polite follow-up is often enough. At the same time, review fresh posts from the Federal Employment Agency and company sites. A wider search gives you more chances to act.

One common question

Should I call the recruiter?

If the advert offers a contact number, a polite call may be fine. A short email is also a sound choice.

Show your skills with TalentCard

You can add a TalentCard link to a job application. It shows approved work facts, but cannot promise a reply.

A TalentCard does not promise a job. Employers and search services make their own decisions.
